You have to remember that the newly acquired "hurley" was priced at $37.5. Check that car out, and compare. The price seems fair given the rebuild, but a touch high given the miles. $32-33 imho

Sounds high to me
Just spent the last 6 months looking before I pulled the trigger last month
Don't think there are too many for 35k with over 100k miles on her.
GLWS.

If a prospective buyer takes the time to drive a few cars in the $25-$30k range, and then this one, Ryan will get his asking price without issue.

No affiliation other than I've driven the car briefly when Kie owned it, and I chatted with Ryan a year or so ago when I happened to see him at a local detailer.

I think the reality is no matter the mods, engine rebuild, etc. MOST but not all buyers are mileage obsessed. When 993's roll over 100k miles they take a huge hit in value and not only that but they take significantly longer to sell even at lower prices.

I don't agree with peoples logic as condition, documentation, and repairs/maint etc are king to me but sadly most buyers don't think that way. Sold my last 993 w/ 157k miles to another RL'r who loves it but I sold it cheap even though it was nicer than most 993 I have seen.

So if your not in a hurry wait for the out of the box buyer. My gut says is would sell quick $29-30k. $32-35k will take you a while.

+1. I agreed with Nathan. Most buyer looks at the mileage as the number one factor when determining the sale price. My car has a little more mileage than some C4S (64K), but all big ticket items (top end, clutch, brakes/rotors) has been taken care of. But buyers, wants original cars with stock suspensions, etc... with lower mileage to pay a higher sale price.

I suggest taking out the added mods (ones that are easily removeable- deck, seats, etc...) and sell them separately or add on top of the sale price.

Good luck on your sale.

Put it on some euro websites, they seem to care less about mileage.

I think it's about $5,000 too high. If you leave the price at $35,000 and it's negotiated down to $30,000, that price would still be too high for what most buyers are looking to pay for a 111,000 mile car, IMHO.

I believe 35 k is high. I have a similar car with 81 k miles (no engine rebuild or LWF) and "may" be able to sell for low 30s but contantly get low balled in the high 20s. People are afraid of mileage. I just decided to keep it.

Nice mods and all but at the end of the day, that Ducktail & R. Stick shift is going to limit your potential buyers... Just IMHO.

Ok so I had to go back and read the listing two more times before I saw this....

OP: You need to make this a major item and point this out clearly and in detail. If this was a full top end rebuild. 35k is a great price and should be easy sale.

I missed that, too, and like you, Jeff, had to read it three times before I saw it.

RC, you need to put the rebuild first on the build sheet or, at the very least, make it bold.

I think the price is fine at $35,000 for a Rothsport-built motor that has 46,000 miles on it. Might even be a tad low?

For those looking for a low mileage similar car, here is one for $42K with 27,000 miles.
