I bought a set, they need some material removal to fit properly, the stock rubber ones compress enough to get the rack aligned and bolted down. Putting the poly ones straight in wouldn't allow me to torque up the bolts correctly.
Haven't driven the car as yet as I have the engine out for a rebuild...
Sorry cannot be of more help.

I'm trying to guess what could be the add of this mod but I can't figure it out...??
The oem part are only supposed to work as vibrations absorbers and no flexibility is expected...
did I miss something or what ?

Rethinking at it it's possible that the rack can slightly move as he is only tighten by rubber pressure.
Agree
Would be nice to heard a driver's feedback afterwards.

I have these on mine. Can't really tell the different compare to the OEM. I would suggest to give it a try since most our OEM bushing are 16+ years old, why not to change a new one. The set is only $30, and it's a 15 minutes job to change it.

Can't quite figure out how poly bushings would make the steering more precise. The stock bushings don't really function like bushings, but as vibration reducers -- a thin layer of rubber underneath the brackets that clamp the rack to the underside of the car.
