Default Trickle Chargers

Can anybody recommend a trickle charger that they are currently using?
Thanks for your input.

I use the 95504490054, Porsche Dual-Mode Battery Charger. Got it at Suncoast for $109. Works great and can be used for motorcycle as well.

I use a similar unit to the Porsche/CTEK models. I bet it's the same manufacturer;
just a different supplier label on the charger itself. Works great, however, I do not
trust the cigarette lighter plug in. Not sure if it didn't create a proper connection
once, but upon returning from a 2 week vacation the battery was on its last
legs..Not dead, but needed a charge to turn the car over. From then on, I just
attach it directly to the battery terminals, and pinch the wire with the trunk lid.

I use a CTEK 3300 for the Porsche. Only so much can be expected from battery chargers in that price range.

If you want to spend a bit more, you can get a Xantrex Truecharge 2, the 10A model, that can handle all types of lead acid batteries. I've seen them for about $150.

Currently have five Battery Tender Plus's tending both conventional as well as OPTIMA and ODYSSEY batteries. They've served me well and at around $50 a unit, they've saved me far more with extended battery life and reliable starts. One thing tho, they won't save a battery from having a bad cell.

Deltran Battery Tender Jr. Less than $25 on Amazon, working great for years. Came with convenient connect that stays on battery plus the usual clips.

I've been using the first generation Porsche unit continuously for about seven years with no problems at all. Plug and play- it doesn't get any simpler.

I used the Deltran Battery Tender Jr. and have two that I don't need anymore. Email me at joshuaweinstein at ymail.com if you're interested in one of them.
