Default PSS10 install instructions

The time came to install my long ago purchased (Viper Bob) PSS10 and was searching for comprehensive instructions. I seem to remember a really detailed write-up in one of the threads but now I cannot find it; also there was a write-up on p-car.com under "Modifications", but it is now gone.

Anyone can send me a useful link?

Thanks

Sweet, I will be diy-ing this in a month or so. I'm planning to reference the suspension p-car
article along with my factory manual pdf.

http://p-car.com/diy/sus/

Do you know where one can find the Hazet half open 21mm socket?

Jakob, I could send you the socket I made, but for the cost of the return postage you could just make your own - very simple with either a dremel or an air cut off tool. The actual Hazet sockets are crazy expensive - if you can find them.

Steve, thanks for the offer! Yeah, good call, i can definitely try making one. How
many blades did you go through with a dremel? lol..I'll give it a shot.

Thanks!

I actually used my air cut off tool, and I only used one quality disc. Discs for these and dremels are not an area to save money on - I knew a guy who had a Princess Auto disc disintegrate on him and bury a big chunk in his face. Not fun.

I think I have still have the instructions VB gave to me when I did this a few years ago. A couple of great setup tips contained in the write up. PM me your email address and I will dig out and forward to you.

Rennlister InTheAir had a DIY posted here for a long time. Due to the expense of maintaining the photo site associated with it, he now charges a nominal fee. I used it on my PSS10 install and found it useful.
It is available through this link: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...r-dummies.html
But beware the "slippery slope." By the time I was done with my simple "suspension upgrade", I had:
-new tires (Sumi HTR Z)
-12 new Bosch plugs
-12 new Beru plug wires
-new Bosch caps and rotors
-Rebuilt and freshly powder-coated brake calipers
-freshly powder-coated wheels
-new rear toe control arms (Tarrett)
-new fuel filter
-Walrod a-arm bushings
So, good luck and have fun! You will love the PSS10s.

Jakob, I will be in Europe next week and have the Hazet tool on order for delivery at my friends place. If you have issues making it youself, pm me and I will lend it to you.

Bob, thnaks for tje offer, pm sent.

3healey, way beyond the slippery slope here so far:

Rennline
Pedals
3 point Strut Brace
Floor Boards
Track Mats
CF center console
Rottec CF seats
Auxiliary oil cooler
Short-throw
CF RS door panels

Plan to
:
Fister III and Golden Rod (feel like blushing here )
Walrod Bushings
Pioneer DEX 99 RS / Audison / Focal / Alpine install

I have driven/owned a lot of cars, but none better than the 993. It is not a question of ultimate speed or handling, but just the seamless way everything comes together in an almost oerfect (see list above ) package. I will never sell the 993

Use a 13/16" spark plug socket, the type with a hex at the top. You hold that with a wrench and feed the hex bit through the 3/8" drive opening at the end of it.

In the past I used to cut the top of a socket off and weld on a wrench, then I used the allen or hex socket on ratchet thru the top hole. Great leverage and easy done by

Alittle tinkering around with tools can make 6 ways to do one thing without having to buy.

Ive also ground two flats on a 21mm deep socket clamped on vicegrips and used an allen/hex key down the top hole. Cars and tools are fun

Jakob,

any news on your DIY…..

I'm almost ready.

Did you do the Walrod Bushings too?

I have 2 spare A arm front and was thinking to install new bushing and fit them.

The Walrod bushings are a good addition but pressing them in may be difficult without a shop's equipment. Even though you have a spare set I'd buy them from FDM with the bushings already pressed in.
The shock install is pretty basic and you can see from the many photos and threads that there are no real tricks to it. Take your time and post or PM me if you get stuck.
