I think that's what the Edmund's value is. My point is that since he states this as the appropriate value to the government (tax law comes in here) for transferring it from corporate fleet to personal vehicle, that may leave him without much basis for an objection to similar valuation if it gets totaled. Probably a remote circumstance though, and certain money in his pocket now beats "maybe" money later, so I think this is a no-brainer.
Just a dumb "what-if" thought on my part.
One question though: how were you driving a 16 year old car as a company vehicle? Aren't IRS guidelines a little opposed to that?
