Default Very OT - Land Rover

Certainly not Porsche related, but I thought I'd share.

I just bought another Land Rover Discovery. I had an 03 Discovery that I regretted selling a couple of years ago, so I just replaced it with another 03 Disco. I really prefer the styling of the 03/04 so I'm kind of stuck on those years. Land Rovers are such quirky and fun vehicles, and are unstopable in most any conditions. And yes, I actually take mine off-road to get to my summer camp.......occasionally.

Are any of you 993 owners also Land Rover owners/fans?

Cheers.

Love my '97 Defender 90, wouldn't sell her for the world! On the other hand my wife has an 08 range rover... That thing is over priced junk. Only 25k miles, and been to service more times than I count. Getting rid of it before the warranty expires next January. I love the old discovery, defender, and pre ford range rovers, but the new models do nothin for me. Enjoy the new (old) ride!

Interesting comments above. I have to buy a company car, so I took a supercharged Range Rover 2011 out for test drive on Friday. I thought it had good power and drove nice. It stickers for $79k and took all my energy not to buy it. I also like the LR4 but my wife thinks its a soccer moms car.

I guess I'll keep looking if the new ones have that bad of service.

I also like the styling on the older discos. I once had a 110 and it was the only car I ever made money on...drove like a short school bus. I was so in love with the RR Sport and really wanted it for a DD but quality issues and some really stupid design quirks sent me to Merc. Sample flaw: fold the rear seats flat and you're forced to move the driver seat up to an uncomfortable position (and I'm 5-9!)

When I am not driving my 993 the other car in my stable is a 1999 Discovery 1. A beast of a vehicle that can go almost anywhere. Lots of fun as a family camp car.

I have a 2010 RR Sport Supercharged. One of the best cars I have ever owned. Not a single problem with the car. No rattles. No repairs. And I am super picky. Drives great with massive horsepower. Horrible gas mileage but that is to be expected. The quality has improved significantly in the past five years.

Huge fan-I have 90K miles on my LR3 and love it. They are still the most capable off road SUV around and the LR has the most amount of useable space of any SUV I have seen. I will be brand loyal for my next purchase.

Im sure everyone has had and will continue to have their own experiences with these cars, so don't pass on one because of my experiences. I have very little to complain about the warranty service, but my concern as with most cars, would be the cost of repairs when the warranty expires.

Can we talk Evo real quick.

The interior trim was very high end, nicer than the RR. The ride was excellent. It is a Turbo, not quick but sufficient....

Quite impressed for decked out Range Rover Evo at $55k
