Sold my 96' 4S about 20 months ago. Huge mistake
Bought a 07' 997 two months later. Boring
Added a 88' Targa 10 months ago to fill that air cooled hole.
Two months ago sold the Targa back to previous owner after locating my 993
Truly missed the gang here and I am thrilled to be back!
Could not have made the comeback without help from many, including Karl W. aka PorscheDoc who made the PPI trip from hell with me. Raj aka 968TurboS who opened up his house with a lift at 9:00 p.m. on a Friday night to strangers.
Jim aka kcwsJim, Steve aka Raceit, and Karl (again) for helping me get her all sorted out once I got her back to KC. Lose the aftermarket rear spoiler the previous owner had on it, drop it with PSS9's (thanks JPS) and add M030 sways. Thats about where the mods will end on this one.
Here it is. 1997 C2S widebody. Purchased from an individual in NJ. I am the third owner. 31K miles. Original and unmolested.
So often we read about these come backs - it is a reminder to all of us that the grass is.....oops someone beat me to it.
The only mods she needs. Sweet low mileage car. Welcome back!
from someone else who left, regretted it, and came back too, welcome home again Mark.
Too funny how the Targa owner bought his old car back too, ha! the 993 community is a big part of what makes up our 993s. I wouldnt have been able to find mine without the board, and meeting a few new good friends along the way.
Welcome back Mark! Though I never parted with my 993 (and never will) - I can relate:
- sold my old E30 325is (mistake)
- bought an E46 M3 (hated everything about that car except the engine)
- sold the POS M3 and bought a Boxster S (much better, but found I don't like convertibles)
- sold the Boxster S and looking for 993 #2
I've got a problem in that I can't help comparing other cars to the 993. Except for a 997GT3 which I'm waiting to depreciate a bit more, they all lose.
I had the same thing happen but the other way around. I sold a low mileage 1997 C2S and purchased a 1997 C4S, same colour combo as your new one. 2 years without was too long.
