My windows rub on the moulding as the door is closing. The interferrence is such that it sometimes causes the door to not shut all the way, or the glass may actually be sprung and not sitting on the inner gasket since it held out by the trim on the top of the door frame. I have pulled up and down on the door, and it does not appear to be loose in the hinge. The allignment when closed appears to be straight. The car has no accident history that is recoreded or could be found on PPI.
Any ideas on a fix?
My wifes Audi rolls the window down about 1/8" when the door is opened and returns when the door is closed. That would solve all of my problems if I fail to find the true issue.

Are the targa windows frameless?? Typically the only windows that auto retract are framless (like on the Audi and newer Porches, both coupes and cabs).

Pick a body shop with good reviews though< I've seen them jack these cars up more than once.

Gotcha. If its anything like the newer cars, look under the door and there should be some rubber grommets...pull them out to reveal an allen or torx bolt. You should be able to turn the bolt and the glass will either get tighter against the seal or move away from the seal. I have adjusted this on my Cayman and my Dad's 71 914...so it can't be that different on a 993.
