I'll be up there for the NY Auto show for the day on April 7th, can't wait. For hotel, if you can't get a great deal on Priceline or aren't comfortable with Priceline (usually the very best deal around) and if you have Starwood Points saved up (like I do) - I'd highly recommend this newer hotel. The Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan SoHo Village. It's relatively "cheap" and the rooms are killer compared to the Times Square rooms at the Sheratons up there.

"This hotel is in a great, safe location.....almost in the heart of Soho and the Village. I have stayed in many hotels and this is one of the cleanest I have ever seen! From the lobby to the hotel room, everything was immaculate. Very friendly staff and quick check in/out.
My daughter and I were in NYC for a couple of college visits and a little getaway. This hotel served the purpose perfectly. When I go back to NYC, I will absolutely stay here again. Great restaurants in the area, as well.
Room Tip: The rooms above the 10th floor are a bit larger, from what I learned at the front desk."

If you're considering taking the 993, I would think twice about driving into the city. The traffic, parking, pedestrians and most importantly the streets are horrific. I'll never make that mistake again. Other than that, I love NY. Lots to see and do.

We were up in a Mid Town South loft, but I needed more space.
The funny thing is that my family owned a business since 1913 that was also in 11 Broadway until the 1980's........and now I'm moving back in !

If we don't meet up there / Manhattan for a sandwich, hopefully we'll cross paths at the Hershey swap meet.
Qiuick facts, especially for anyone visiting (like me):
- The nation's oldest auto show, established in 1900.
- NYer Max Hoffman showed its 1st Porsche in 1954.
- Over a million attendees expected this year.
- One 993 on display - mine <--- thanks to a RLer!
Enjoy the LeMay Museum's exhibit: on level 1 through Easter Sunday, then on level 2 from Apr 9 through the show's close Apr 15.
