Another tip when dealing with plastics/plastic inserts and fasteners.

When threading a screw back in that was removed, initially thread the screw counter-clockwise till the threads drop into the existing thread in the plastic insert. Then screw the fastener as usual. This prevents repeatedly cutting new threads into the insert which would eventually require replacement.
