Ugly side of track days.
Take a look at the video. WAY less damage than what I expected after taking the hit--rear quarter (of course), and the suspension arms/wheels. Transaxle case cracked at the bellhousing. Good thing I've got an extra G50, huh?
How it went down:
Front http://youtu.be/yOiFU-uHkoQ
Rear http://youtu.be/n8gWMlZmn18 (only last few seconds are relevant, there was no one behind me)

ouch.. hope the repairs work out.
Anything you would do different if you were in the situation again (outside of running wide?) Im going into my first track day with mine and always curious how these things can bite you. Coming from a Mini Cooper S which is a lot easier to drive on the track.

Well **** happens, glad you're ok. Let us know what the case, crankshaft, rear subframe, and rear frame rails are like.

Bummer Ken.
It looked like you were going to ride it out for a while there. It's better that the trans and rear suspension took a big part of the hit. That sheet metal work gets expensive beyond the 1/4 panel.

Ouch, sorry to see this. I just drove Laguna Seca for the first time a month ago but doing hot laps, not racing. Technical course, with not much room for error, especially in that section of the track. The 964 should have let you by on the flatter section, his speed was way off your pace.

Sorry to see that Ken.... Glad you are OK and the car is repairable... I had a similar hit to the rear quarter in 08, 10's of hours and 1000's of dollars and it is good/better than new. Yours will be too.
Best of luck to you...
