All 993 and 964 have both inboard and outboard mounts for the front suspension longitudinals

One set of outer/inner mounts can be seen here, the 3 threaded holes at the left and right of the rear of the front well.

You can see the front A arms bolted to the longitudinals which are bolted to the chassis here. This is a 993Cup so is using the inner position

The RSR and GT2 both use the outer position w/ large flares and wheels w/ different o/s from the narrow body cars the only other parts that are different dimensionally are the sway bar and steering arms which are both longer.

Thanks Bill. Seems like too much work to get a wider front track

Here's an example of the cheater approach - using different offset front wheels (note the wide outer barrel) instead of moving the front subframe/a'arm mounting points outboard. This shortcut approach significantly changes the scrub radius.

Thanks for sharing. So a RSR wide body kit and some wheels are needed. What specific wheels are needed? Just offsets and width or specific wheels?

There were several different wheels sets used on the RSRs, most common
9.5x18ET38
11x18ET40

that's the rim sizing for the fender flared gt2/rsr? it seems rather small. i'm using the 996 turbo rims at 11x18et45 and there is still plenty of room left on WB cars in the rear. what were the tire sizes for the gt2?

GT2 Evo is different from RSR
RSR was based on the 993 Cup narrow body and used 245/645 x18 & 285/685 x18 tires

GT2 Evo was based on the tt wide body and used
10x18ET32 w/ 245/645 tires
11x18ET14 w/ 305/670 tires

The above were as delivered from the factory w/ rain tires and were often changed by individual teams to suit.

Keep in mind those rim widths were chosen to optimize tire/sidewall profiles for selected slicks and grip requirements.

So RS and RSR are both narrow bodies?
Earliest post I read said GT2/RSR were both fender flared bodies..."pure race wide body were GT2 and RSR."
Were there any race cars based on the WB w/o fender flares?

No, they were both based on the n/b, but the RSR has the bolt on flares added on to it and the fenders beneath the flares cut away.

Yes , both the GT2 and the RSR had bolt on flares, but the GT2 flares were bolted on to a widebody tt chassis the RSR flares were bolted on to a n/b chassis

No stock tt w/b racers from the factory that I know of

next question, how far did the flares on the rsr extend it? on the rim specs, i would assume it be similar to slightly wider than a stock TT wb? when did the rsr appear and when did it stop? i would assume pre '96?
