Last spring I bought a Dach X Pipe and Fister Stage IIs with the intention of reinstalling stock exhaust manifolds in place of Fabspeed Maxflo header/muffler system. Maxflo system is great for track but resonance makes car unbearable for more than a couple of hours on highway use. At the time, I was still thinking I wanted a combination track/street car, but as the year progressed, I slipped further and further down the slope. Car is basically a track appliance and weekend cruiser now. So, I'm considering selling the never-installed X pipe and Stage IIs. Don't know what they're worth... would like opinions. A small voice inside says, "don't sell, you'll need them to turn the car back to street when you buy the Cup!" Thoughts?

Don't good intentions count for anything? Darin and I talked several times about what would work best without a cat. Fully intended to install, but I guess satan of the the track intervened!

I'll bet the resonance comes from the muffler with the X-pipe in the middle and not from the headers. Keep the headers and try out a different muffler and see if the droning goes away. It will require some basic fab work to get the pipes from the headers to mufflers installed in the factory locations but I can (almost) guarantee it will make a difference.
Fabspeed might even have an adapter pipe to go from their headers to factory mufflers... maybe. I would if they were my headers.

I think you should install them to try 'em out. My guess in perfect condition, you can get close to what you paid for them, 75-80% retail.

Chaos, What's installed is the Fabspeed Maxflo header/muffler system. Just headers and a minimal muffler where the stock cat was located. Fabspeed's website now says something like "recommended for track use only", but unfortunately didn't have that warning when I purchased the system.

Lots of new plumbing would be required to connect headers to Stage IIs, if it would be possible at all. Darin didn't think it was too feasible.

Stealth, thanks... that's a pretty common sense idea. might just give that a try.

To all interested in buying the Stage IIs. I'll keep you posted after I've figured out what I'm going to do.

Ditto, interest in the X-pipe. Cats only.

FWIW, I have that set up on my C4S, I LOVE IT!! So far every one else that has listened to the car at full song loves it as well.

Here is a very bad video with good sound of my car...
