Bilstein Part #

The car I purchased last summer has Bilstein's on the rear, original equipment in the front. The original owners shop replaced just the rear shocks when the car had about 45000 miles on it. I want to get shocks for the front, but I don't know what model of Bilstein's I have in the back, and what I should put on the front. I would also like to lower the car. The part # on the rear drivers side is F4 BE5-6130-H0. Does anyone know what model Bilstein this is, is it adjustable and what do I need on the front to make my car ride better and sit a little lower.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Check out Essex Distributors for part numbers and pics of the actual shocks.

yes, Bilstein HDs but the "old" part #
if you purchase them today they will have the new part # unless old inventory is found somewhere
you can lower the car as much as you'd like with HDs on the front and rear
matched suspension front and rear will make a big difference in handling

Thanks for the info! Would I need to purchase new springs, or just the front shocks. Is this a complicated install and does it require a new alignment? Sorry for the questions, I just never realized the different suspension options.

couple of options
at a minimum you want to match the springs that are on the rear
if someone replaced the rear shocks alone, I would bet they are the original springs. You could keep the originals all around.
ideally, you would want ROW springs to help lower the car.
there are a variety of spring options, depending on how you use the 993
Porsche makes an M030 and M033 ROR spring
M033 springs combined with HDs are a good all around combo. Good ride feel and handling.
M030 springs are progressive and are more "aggressive" when matched with HDs.
then there are aftermarket choices... H&R is one...
most often it is a matter of personal preference and intended use

Also usautoparts.net
I caught a deal there at $682 for the Pair of Front HD Bilsteins including Shipping but all depends on how quick you need them - if u r willing to wait and shop. Try Tirerack also.
Do not forget to do an allignment.

Thanks for the tips and info. That is great! I am going to inquire with FD Motorsports about a purchase first, but I think I am going to get the M033 springs along with adding the Bilstein HD's to the front. Thanks again.

What's the mileage on your car now? How many miles on the new rears? If not much, then agree, just get the fronts. But if too much mileage on the rears, I would prefer getting a fresh set all around.
And M030's are very nice ( I had these on before I went PSS route).

I had good luck with shox.com, lowest price when i bought my HDs
I did have to return one shock, so it took a little longer, but they exchanged it under warranty. shox.com is located near Bilstein, so they have a good working relationship with them.
no relation, just a satisfied customer.
