Immobilizer Failure?
I know there are other posts on this issue, but don't see the answer I am seeking. When I am driving, the immobilizer warning light on the clock constantly flashes. Manual says 'failure' and take to the dealership. All other functions for the immobilizer appear to be fine. Should I ignore this light, or is there a fix I am missing? I have tried the other suggestions previously posted.
Thanks!

yes the "!" light indicates that a warning is on, just click to acknowledge and it will go off. Nothing to be worried about.
It should come on at start up, but once you are going 4mph forward, is goes off.
There are other reasons it will come on as well, the owner's manual identifies them I think.

Thanks for these comments. You are talking about the '!' which is the 'central warning light' (oil press/temp gauge), but that is not my problem. The 'cancel button' on the center console is used to cancel this central warning light, but has no affect on the 'Immobilizer warning light'. Will ignore for now as it doesn't indicate a failure of immobilizer functionality that I can tell.
This is just a picture I found. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1271160635.jpg Im talking about that "!" button. Third one on the top to the right
I have had it happen a few times, maybe 3 times in 5 years. I just cycle the alarm, on and off, and it goes away.
I have never taken it to the dealer because of it.
Hook it up to a computer & read the codes. You can also unplug the battery for a bit.
I had the blinking light problem after I chipped my 95. Come to find out it was the wrong chip for my ECU, so it was sold, with issues since.

This happened to me this morning. When I noticed the flashing, I drove straight home before shutting the car off. The car started right back up without a problem and was able to lock and unlock all the doors. No flashing light. The car had been sitting for about a week and the battery barely started the car, so I am guessing that low battery voltage may have been the problem. Also changed the fob battery just in case.
