Progress continues. On order:
Still have to undo the transmission mount, find speakers, track wheels, and a few odds and ends, including finishing dying the headliner.
- Recaro Pole Position
in black leather for driver. - Recaro Sport Topline in black leather for passenger.
- Tarret rear toe links and locking plates
Still have to undo the transmission mount, find speakers, track wheels, and a few odds and ends, including finishing dying the headliner.

What a gorgeous car the coupe is, especially the interior. That's one of the nicest I've ever seen in a911. Congratulations on finding what you wanted. It sure is a frustrating process; I've never had this much trouble finding a car like I want. Your story gives me hope.

LOVE this thread.. reminds me of the many times that I have searched for the perfect (at the time) car.. as I am doing right now as a matter of fact.. to all those who have gone through this laborious process remember the whole process when you think you want to change things up and to sell your car.. you might change your mind. ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
OP - nice 993.. have a blast with it!!

Work continues.
One Focal 165 speaker in, another one to go.
Spacers Dremeled on the rear Polk db461, awaiting time to install.
Debating whether to install the new Pioneer deck myself or take it someplace...
It's in the shop now getting Tarret toe links with locking plates installed, plus reverting the transmission mount back to stock.
Recaro Pole Position (nearly correctly) installed, awaiting stock RS bracket to see if that fits the seat belt receptacle better than the BK or the Recaro bits did. Recaro Sport Topline already drilled out for 6 pt and installed. (pics forthcoming)
Lloyd mats (black with black PORSCHE lettering) arriving tomorrow.
Getting closer to what looks like it might be the bottom, or at least a level spot, of the slippery slope...

Well- I think this the right place for my first post. I just bought this 96 993 C4-- Midnight and Marble with blue dash. This is my 3rd porsche (all have been blue!) after my 87 Targa (owned by my father for 15 years first), my 99 Boxster (sold to my neighbor), and now back in the air-cooled club with the 993 C4.
The porsche passion is a father / son thing. The best part of the whole Porsche experience has always been the quality time with dad. From a little boy in my dad's first 911, to the blast we had on Woodward Ave together last weekend in our 993's, and all the little moments in between. Its a great passion.
My dad's 97 993 Targa is the other half of the car collection, and "our" original 87 Targa will hopefully find its way home when its new owner and family are ready to move on. I owe my dad - again - for finding this one. Despite all my efforts, pursuits, calls, and bids, He's always finds "the one" - right under our noses...
Midnight and Marble - how cool!

JPS, great car, I like 993 in dark colors, quite extensive list of mods. That's dedication to have this car in the city and find a place to park and work on it. I thought I was crazy, and I'm on the other side of Hudson.
Hopefully, I can join the club soon.I have PPI scheduled for next week.

Thanks. G-Massa looks like a nice car.
Update: Seats mostly in (still figuring out the right seat belt receptacle mount on the Pole Position driver side, black mats arrived and in (comparing to keeping grey stock).
Reverted back to stock transmission mount. Wife will be VERY happy. I do miss the whine already though.
Tarret toe links installed.
In the shop now getting the Pioneer head unit installed and while they are in there, hard wiring the V1.

Seats are (mostly) in. Still waiting for a bolt (as I can't find the one I took off) to put the RS seatbelt mount in and firm up the Pole Position. I'll then properly route the belt as well.

Also been adding in the stereo:
Focal 165A going in, utilizing the stock tweeter mounts.
What was left of the rears, and showing the remount with the Polk 461s.
