Thoughts on this 1997 S, 30k miles, $61,999 ask?

It's a Porsche being sold by a dealership. Does the "ASKING PRICE" really surprise anyone? It's only an asking price. I would hope a knowledgeable buyer would not pay that price. If they did they would be overpaying by about $7-8K IMO. Assuming a very clean PPI.
Prices are going up, guys. Spring has sprung. Porsche is not making anymore 993's. This is good for all of us.
I think this example is a mid $50K car.
What should the seller be asking? $55,000??? That's just not how the game is played. Sad but true. But we know that too.

I noticed condensation in my main middle light bar when I did the first car wash on my Turbo after driving her home 2 years ago. Planned on buying a new light ($400 ish IIRC), but tried resealing the top seam first. Fixed. No more condensation.

FYI, Only the standard black gauges have Carrera S splashed across them. All others (aluminum, painted, etc.) from the factory do not. For example, my car has the aluminum face gauge package and there is no script and I never missed it because I know I'm driving an S - don't need the reminder

Sometimes, when you find the "perfect car" you just buy the damn thing and perhaps even pay a bit too much. The extra price is quickly forgotten, but the joy of owning your perfect car marches on. This car has a good chance of being a collectable someday.

Sorry to say, but if there's a silver or painted set of gauges out there that has Carrera S script, those are the ones that aren't OEM. Check the old catalogs or look at any car that came from the factory with the X71 Aluminum Gauges Package (like mine). Photo of the "Real Deal" below.

Average say the extra you paid over "x" amount of ownership years and sometimes it can be pretty insignificant vs. the joy of the car over the years.
Example let's say $5K over the so called market price for this one, after 3-5 years that amount will be so pity. Keep in mind it's not like these cars are depreciating like the newer models.

That is a really really nice car! Expensive but if you can get it low/mid 50's probably not a bad deal. Like others have said, they arent making them anymore. It would need to be perfect though. Great options!
