Default WTB: Steering rack brace

If anyone happens to have or come across a steering rack brace for my 95 that would be great. I've got nice new MY02's and can't seem to find a brace.

they have gone up quite a bit...

and as others have said, Porsche is out of stock. We sold our last kit a while back. It was $59 for the brace and bolts. Who knows what it will be when they have them again.

Fabricating them is not a bad idea. They are pretty simple

Trying Gert, but I doubt Europe is any better. I was told they changed the part number as well from .02 to .03 and they had no idea when new one would be out.

If I'm not mistaken, the last time I looked they were pushing $100. I'd be very interested in a knock-off!

Sometimes ebay can help, of course that one sold I searched the part # and got lucky # 993 347 131 02

The factory part is pretty flimsy so I think a homemade one would work just fine. My car is still in the air with the front cover off so I could measure it for you, but I won't be able to get to it until later in the week.

If nobody else has one handy I'll get the measurement by the weekend.

Last year I paid $110 for it at the stealership , what a rip-off!
Looking back now , I should have made one.

Yeah, went the salvage route, seems they may not even make them again. Fun!

Just make your own. Nothing easier then that. A piece of flat stock and a couple of longer bolts. That's all.
Any home improvement store will sell the hardware.

If you could measure yours Erik it would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone else has one around for measuring, I will take all submissions.

While we're discussing this area of the car; how hard/soft are the rack bushings? Seems like a potential area to use polyurethane...but I failed to give them a poke when I was in there flushing the PS fluid.
