Hey Erik. /thanks. I looked at 968s. More car for sure but the S2 does it for me even in that 80s kind of way. Also, is that a new avitar or am I noticing the cool depth of feild for the first time?

Nick, It is supposedly stock...the PPI indicated no mods. (I get to slide down my own slope, again!)
The rear transaxle does provide an incredible balance & with a few simple suspension upgrades, they handle as well as anything else I've driven.
I will be contacting you about upgrades when the time comes.

There are a number of aesthetic mods that improve the 944 considerably over stock. PM me when your credit card is ready to go...!

Looks and sounds like a nice one. Congratulations. The S2 is a great version of the 944.
Should be a fabulous daily driver.

I have been looking for a quite a while for a good daily driver in an effort to keep the mileage and wear down on my 993. I have always loved the 944 and after a lot of searching and missed opportunites finally found a very nice 89 944S2 with 61k miles.
After owning a 996 tt I decided that I did not want a turbo but a NA car with plenty of torque. The S2 has all the good looks and upgrades of the last 944 turbos but with a 3.0 litre...the biggest 4C in a production car at that time.
This was a car I wanted in my 20s and the appeal has remained. After a thorough PPI by Chris Musante in CT the report was as I hoped...near perfect except for some needed maintanence (motor mounts, heater flap, shocks, sunroof issue, and other misc stuff we Porsche owners know and expect). The leak down was perfect too.
So, here goes, another journey. Although I wanted this car for a dd that I would not care about as much as my 993 I suspect that I will be very proud to own and drive this car. I will no doubt put the time and energy into making it a Posrshce that is nicely set up for driving and enjoying to the fullest. Very excited for sure!
Here are a couple of seller's picts...will post proper pictures when it arrives.

A good friend of mine bought an S2 back in ~89 or so.
He never let me drive it, but I did go for several rides in it. As I recall, it pulled pretty good for a 4 cylinder.

Taking my nephew for a fly and drive from CT to MI on Saturday. Just got his drivers permit so he can probably get a few miles of driving pleasure in, and have a trip to remember. I will post pictures of our trip from the road.
Just a note about this guy...the first car he ever drove was my 993 when he was 15...(parking lots and deserted side streets). Loved it, and picked up manual tranny operation like a veteran. I wish I had an uncle at 17 that took me on a Porsche road trip. Here he is a couple of pictures from the last 2 years. Next picts will be us with a red S2.

Thanks Greg, wish I had time to stop and say hi, but we will have a 13 hour drive beginning at 3 30 pm (after an 8 hour plane journey)...but I will honk.
Well put!

Two 944Ss
After having various iterations of 951s (86 951 and four different 944 Turbo Ss), I've found that I prefer the S2s.
So much so, that I currently have two 1989 944S2s!!!
*Guards Red/Black 20,300 miles
*Metallic Black/Black 27,800 miles
Both 100% Stock.
No paint
No accidents
Both Showroom new perfect.
The black car has every factory option, including the sport suspension, which by comparison to the red car, delivers a much firmer ride.
Like and drive them both around town (hence the low low miles).
