Al,

That's a great price for all of those parts. I'd be very interested in your transitional experience. Any pictures of the new interior? Planning to redo the interior in my C2S and hadn't considered anything else but recovering everything. Looks like you replaced everything!

This is true!

I'll post some pics when the car comes out of storage in the spring.

Thank you.

What's the difference between this Florentine and Marble Grey?

Florentine is lighter, more whiter, with a very slight blue hue.

I think it was a '95 early '96 color only.

Was hoping to get some nice glamour shots over the summer and show the transformation but this year has been so busy.

She needs a detail now after a summer's worth of driving. I'm embarrased, the sills look filthy.

Wish there was a good detail-er nearby. Rick at Unique is a two hour ride.

Regards,

.

Did you replace or dye the carpet?

Did you have it done or attempt it yourself? I've heard it's nasty. If done, where and how much? I've always toyed with switching to cashmere interior...

I have a friend in the business. He has done at least a dozen 911's. In order to have it come out looking factory original (my goal), the job requires skills I don't have.

It took a whole day to remove the old floor. What a mess. He used a thin layer of charcoal colored muslin to cover the old glue and smooth it all out so the carpet would lay right.

It looks great, fit and finish are perfect. I'm a picky guy.

Seems from the leather/vinyl perspective at least, marble and florentine are the same. I bought a used Florentine, and it looks like my Marble Grey.
