I cannot get my alarm to go into programming mode. My alarm sets properly with no faults. I have tried all the beginning steps but I can only get the remote light in my clock to go off and then back on again I cannot get it to flash
Anyone else had this problem???

Some thoughts:
2.) Also with your car shut off does the battery read 12.5 Volts or greater?
The system is known to be sensitive to low supply voltage.
3.) you may be missing somthing very simple in the process steps. Have a friend read the sep by step and do the process without your guidance and see what happens. Things such as how far to turn the key etc.
5.) If you have an early or pre-1995 993 non-varioram car there may be a different process although I am not aware that there is one. Make a call to your dealer and have them investigate this.
Hope the above helps,
Andy

Last night I looked through my paperwork for the car and I found an Owner’s manual supplement on the Immobilizer.
The instructions are different in they tell you to use the emergency unlock procedure “put key in the door unlock then lock then unlock within 5 seconds (the alarm will sound momentarily and you can open the door without the alarm, outside lights will flash) get in the car and put key in ignition and turn on” the rest of the instructions are the same as the post I have seen. I will try this tonight

Updated form - Added info from other postings
Dear Rennlisters,
Attached is an easy to follow step by step chart to deactivate the ignition
immobilizer and add remote key fobs to your 1995 on 993.(up to 4 fobs total)
It makes the process easier to follow when you are in the car actually going
through the process. I recently update the form by adding the some setup steps to the begining of the form.
How to save the form to your machine:
-Save the below form to your local machine by right clicking on image
and select save option and
- Open the file you saved and print it off
-fill in your cars immobilizer code digits on steps 3 through 6 and
-keep the form in a safe place for an emergency.
As always use my posting information at your own risk!

Just learned that the code to program the immobilizer is the last 4 digits of the immobilizer serial number
#39
So even if the immobilizer has been replaced and there is no immobilizer key card, the new immobilizer code is the last four digits of the serial number on the replaced immobilizer unit.
That was easy!
