I have heard different opinions on the value of SS lines vs. stock rubber.

Theoretically, you'd have less "flex" and internal deflection - perhaps a firmer pedal?

Just curious.

Best,

I think unless you are pushing things to the limit on the track, you wouldn't notice much difference.

unless you are running original lines at this point...

in that case, replacing them with OE or aftermarket SS might be a good idea

All things being equal (new OE/new SS), I am not sure I could tell the difference in a blind brake test (is that safe? )

I've never been able to tell the difference between the two. I think their primary advantage in anything but an all out race car is weight loss (via your wallet), then bling (2nd place only because they're hard to see), followed by peace of mind (maximum overkill), and finally something about higher burst strength and abrasion resistance (function...yawn).

I can't come up with a single reason why stock lines would not suffice for me and my purposes but..ehhhh why not I guess, I've put them on every non-appliance car I've owned. And I'm sure Mark and Darin don't mind.

well, the originals on a 993 are pretty old at this point.

and aftermarket lines are more cost effective than replacing with OE
one of the easier decisions, IMO

Well, with the Porsche tax, I could definitely see OE replacements costing more than the aftermarket stainless!
