You took the words right off my keyboard. I'm a little taller, but the same weight. Feels great!

I don't love the alien eyes look of the GT3 seats, but more importantly, they really limit getting to the back, so they are a non-starter for me. 75% of the reason I'm even getting the coupe is my 5 year old son who will ride in the back.

I sat in the Sparco and Recaro, but not the OMP. I guess I'll have to go back with the HANS and try them out again.

I've had the 996 GT3 shell seats, Recaro Pro Racer HANS seat and Recaro Pole Positions (and have lots of friends with Sparco EVO's of all widths) and I haven't experienced any better or worse ingress/egress with any of the one piece seats. IME, they all limit the back seat, and there's just no getting around it.

Such is the compromise of a trackable car that you want to perform better for your purposes that must also serve double duty as a ride for your son. The mantra for wheels (Cheap, light, strong. Pick two.), sounds very similar to your quest for the seat that can do all things while still on a strict budget. Sounds like you need to pony up for the GT2 reclining shells.

So, how tall is too tall for the belt holes in Pole Positions? Is 6'0" too tall?

The Recaro Profi XL will fit with no issue, with the same look as the PP. I'm 6' 2" and had no issues with belt height.

I have Sparco EVO2's. In my opinion they are more comfortable than stock. Great support and feedback.

I've tossed around the idea of putting them in the 993 while the race car is out of commission, but I'm probably the only one that wouldn't mind driving with them on a consistent basis. Like Mark said, though, if you are a tall guy, the PP harness holes may be too low.
Why not lose the spam crap in your posts? I can't see anything in your posts-other than misfired images, but when I reply, you've got spam jpgs. What's up with that?

PP is ideal for 993's. Age appropriate and down right RS down to the core. This is the only option I would consider for 993. Bty, I hate how the 996gt3 seats look in a 993. I know, bad reason to judge a seat, but so be it. ;D

It is an automated spambot.

Smile A word to the wise....

Assuming you have a roll bar or cage in your car, be certain that the shoulder harness slots in the seat you are considering, line up with the shoulder harness lateral bar. If not, and you don't do anything about it, you may be creating a safety issue for yourself, the angle of the belts to the bar may be too acute.

I would up having to relocate my later shoulder harness bar...not cheap.

Yes,......you need either the Profi or Profi XL, depending on waist size.

I'm 6'1" 200# & use the Profi XL, I bought them because of the shoulder hole height, they are a little loose in the seat area for me.

PP are just about perfect in the seat area but w/ shoulder holes that are too restrictive wrt height. I've seen Profi XL shoulder holes installed in PP by owners, seems to be a nice solution. All you need to purchase is the hole trim.

Seems to me Sparco has more generous hole sizes on most of their seats

I am 6'1" and 190 and use the Profi SPG (non-XL) - the fit is snug but not too tight and the shoulder holes are perfect.

Bill showed me this picture, which is very useable. If you use a 20 degree angle you can have harness holes that are slightly below shoulder height, but not much lower than that or you will end up in trouble in case of an accident. I also don't like the upper portion of the GT3 seats but the good news are the big harness holes. From my butt when I sit down to the top of my shoulder is 68cm (or 27 inches). I don't know if that is normal or not but it certainly limits the seat options...
