Accept it; they're wrong.
Open a miriam webster, look up "subjective", read it a few times so it sinks in, and then come back.

fwiw, the model you posted is attractive, but far from the best looking.

Yes, seems dead folks don't like 993s. For real, the ones that I've encountered drove either bmws, MBs, f-cars, or the occasional lexus.

Actually, no I couldn't. Contrary to Mark's ordering you to stay, I truly wish you would take your wet blanket, and leave. For someone who obviously doesn't give a flying F about these cars, I don't know why you hang around here.

Please footnote where in this thread, or elsewhere on Rennlist, I have said that "the 993 is better than yours". Really. I may have written that (but doubt it). The 993 is a cool-looking car, no doubt.

The 993 is a fine car. The 993 is not a perfect car. However, some here seem to delight in purposely grinding 993 owners' noses into whatever imperfections exist with the car, in addition to having the bizarre inability to see the matter objectively. We call these people who exist to incite "trolls", and their need to confront the group is a patent attempt at trying to feel superior. Please see the DSM IV for this quasi narcissistic personality disorder or, perhaps, borderline personality disorder.

Also, I never said that the 993 is better looking than Alessandra.

Lets revisit this in about 30 years.

Personally I hate the fried-egg headlights and the flatted profiles of the body panels.
Don’t really know what the fried-egg analogy stands for, do you? HINT: only a small number of 996s had them.

Care to further enlighten us with more of your erroneous 2nd hand knowledge of the 996?

Wow, coming from self-professed Porsche/car enthusiasts, many of the comments here are very short sighted. I’m embarrassed for many of you…

For me, the fried eggs refers to the 1st gen headlamp style that the 99-2001 NA cars have. That's a significant number of cars I believe. I really do think they look like fried eggs.
The 2002-2004 cars look much better IMHO. Neither style would keep me from buying a great 996 though.

As for many of the other comments, Porsche makes sure that the new version of a 911 will outperform the version being replaced. So it follows that the 996 would be a better performing car.

The rest is, as some above say, subjective. I've driven many 996, and would not give up my car for one. I would add one to my garage as a cheap track car however. Because, it's a great car. It will just never be as valuable as the 993 series. Why? Supply and demand. The supply is fixed, except for attrition. The demand is subjective, and the market has spoken.

WRONG, you do not know what the fried egg comment means either.

But hey, don't let that stop you from using the analogy to slam the 996, after all that's what really counts...no need to let the trivial facts get in the way.

How can it be WRONG, when I clearly say that it's what it means to me? You can deny all you like, but they do look like fried eggs...Maybe you have come up with some flattering explanation for the "fried eggs" analogy, but to me, it because that's what they look like.

Also, please point out anything in my post that "slams" the 996.

Funny, I was expecting to get slammed by the 993 guys for saying that the 996 outperforms the 993...
