hmm, odd situation.
A high mile turbo S has very little addition value over a standard 993TT. Its useless to collectors, and since its basically an ECU and bodykit, its not like it has some inherently better driving experience than a standard car.
I'm glad to see someone drive one like its a normal car (which it is), but if you do that, then the price drops.
$85k seems high. I'd say the car is worth maybe high $70s, if that.

Based on the pictures, this car looks like it has been well cared for, and regardless of the miles, the Turbo S is a very rare car. Personally, I like the color combination. In any case, it seems like $85k would be a bargain for this car...

Agreed. It's a rock solid investment that you can drive with nothing but upside IMHO.....

I think the miles become less important as the car ages. For example, if you are in the market to buy a nice, 1967 Jag e-type, do you care more about the miles or the condition of the car? Sure, thats another 30 years, but trust an old geezer, that time flies by. I like this car at this price. I like Rufus better.

Most cars look good in pictures, including mine. That doesn't mean they don't have the typical chips associated with mileage.
no vehicle is a rock solid investment. A red on red high mile 993 TT s is not an investment. This will not be like the 72RS or 993 GT2. Its an ECU and body package, thats all.

I kinda find it funny that the dealership is called San Francisco Sports Cars, but they're located in San Carlos about 30 minutes south of SF.

Ur right, and i don't like the WB look enough to pay the $5-10K premium slightly wider hips and a split grille command. The C4S is a slightly different case because you also get the turbo brakes and chassis refinements. Its show and go.

My buddy in LA snagged a 1997 993 TTS black/black with 44,000 miles off Craigslist in the Seattle area a few months ago for $72,000 thought it was the steal of the decade. Car is worth $125,000 all day long.....

But if Turbo S's are worth $125k then why hasn't this car sold on Porsche Classifieds, Craiglist, and now Ebay...market seems to be speaking at the moment.

Also it has an interior color of, shall we say, limited appeal. I bet this car would have been snapped up already if it had a black interior.
The question becomes more one of "Where does the value of the Turbo S as a collector car drop off the cliff in terms of mileage?" Clearly before 79K miles, as you point out. Now, is a 44K mile car worth $125K? Dunno.
Clearly some with lower miles have sold well north of that figure.
