Door Seal Replacement - That was easy . . .
My driver's side seal had a 4" tear in it about a foot behind the 'A' post. I replaced the seal tonight. I used the 3M adhesive and adhesive remover and it took less than 45 mins.
But, I did get to thinking, with doorseals selling for upwards of $220., If someone was to use a razor and cut a section from the top of my old one, they could probably replace a 4' torn lower section piece and make it LOOK halfway decent. My old one is in great shape except for that tear.
There is more than enough to replace the length from the 'A' post to the 'B' post if you flip it.
PM me if you are interested and I'll send it out to you N/C.

I am also thinking to replace the seal around the passenger door - again worn/torn from passengers closing the door holding the top of the window frame.
Where did you get the seal - Pelican?
Sorry for the crappy pictures.
Thanks

I bought seals from Pelican for both driver's and passenger's sides.
Just pulled old out and squashed new in with no glue then left the doors closed for a week (in the winter).
That was months ago and they are still nice and snug.

Looks like I missed out on that offer. Anyone else willing to part with their old seals? I'll pay sh/h, np. Thanks

I was on the phone with Pelican today and was referencing the Porsche Parts list... the cab gasket is #8 in the illustration. They show part #993 504 095 01. Double check to be sure, but I think that is it.

I wonder if there's a generic foam-rubber extrusion that is the same/similar profile as the non-formed sections of the OEM seals?

FYI... the door seals from the 964/911 coupe will fit a 993. Current Pelican price for aftermarket is $53.50 each with discount dealer price for OE at $108 each.
While the 993 seals (a 964 part # that was not used on the 964?) are about $227 each for OE from a discount dealer.
The difference between the seals is that the 993 seal is flat and smooth where the 911 seal is round and ribbed. This makes the 993 seals have a left or right fitment where the round 911 seal fits either side. With the 911 seal the door needs a little more effort to close because you have to compress the thicker seal.
I have had a 911 seal on the drivers side for a year or 2 with no leaks or wind noise. I thought I was buying a 993 seal from a rennlister until I got the package with the 911 part # on it, but it was only $40 so OK with me either way. Part # for the 911 seal is 911 531 095 03.
I am not saying to use the incorrect part for your car but for a little over $100 you can do both sides with the "wrong" seals or over $500 for the right seals.
