I'm glad to know you are happy with the Pelican product, I just ordered one right now.

Thanks!

FIFY.... Your TT with the ribs sounds like the Trojan aftermarket brand.

You can faintly see the ribs running front to back on the seal in this shot.

In the previous thread someone suggested door seal from 911 will also fit 993 and it's on Pelican for only $42.25 each: http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Inf...31-095-03-M136. Did anyone confirm the fitment?

Yes - as RSR91128 notes in Post #15 above, "...the door seals from the 964/911 coupe will fit a 993. Current Pelican price for aftermarket is $53.50 each with discount dealer price for OE at $108 each.

While the 993 seals (a 964 part # that was not used on the 964?) are about $227 each for OE from a discount dealer.

The difference between the seals is that the 993 seal is flat and smooth where the 911 seal is round and ribbed. This makes the 993 seals have a left or right fitment where the round 911 seal fits either side. With the 911 seal the door needs a little more effort to close because you have to compress the thicker seal."

My guess is that Al has the older 911 ribbed seal on his turbo...

Giving this thread another kick, as I just replaced the driver's side door seal in my zenith C2S. The new seals from Pelican are a perfect fit, and don't even require glue. The old driver's side seal is still in pretty good shape with one small tear and some minor wear along the bottom of the seal. Will ship free to the first Rennlist member that wants it for a patch or a replacement.

Buy a replacement seal for an earlier 80's Carrera or earlier SC to replace a worn door seal section at the foot threshold. It cost a lot less and has the same profile as a 993 seal with a slightly different texture. One seal is good for multiple threshold section patch jobs. One can slip a piece of fish tank hose in the mated ends to make the alignment new to old look good.
It's a no brainer!

Have this part sitting in the basement. Waiting for the existing deal to wear right through where my foot drags over it before replacing the part. I give it another 50 entry/exits.
