Looks like I have to rethink the tip to manual deal and just stick with the tip for now.
I'm biased but this is what I'd recommended. Have fun with the Tip and decide later - if you find a 6-speed you really like then buy/sell and make the trade - any cash you have to add will be a lot less than the conversion costs. And if you ever are stuck in traffic think about how comfortable your left foot is!

This is one of my favorite Tip videos. I don't often get to run mine up to redline in all gears, but the "hands on wheel" max RPM upshifts are neat.

It’s easy for us here in the States to say “just find a manual” (which isn’t exactly easy either).

Australia is a different market with cars much, much harder to find. I say if you have the money and the stomach for it - go for it. I know I couldn’t be happy driving a Tip Porsche.

OK, so the photos confused me and I finally looked at the dates of these postings. Like some others, I just followed the most recent post when I first saw the thread - and ended up jumping in to comment on a FIVE + YEAR-old query

OP, awesome looking car and installation. But in your original post you said Cab. Did you give up on that car and buy another Tip - or did you go conversion crazy and also weld on a roof?

Welded a roof on it. The cab platform with the roof makes for a stiffer chassis.
