Pulling engine prep. Can't stop fuel on exit side
Getting ready for the engine drop and the fuel continues to pour on exit side. I disconnected at the filter side and its dry so it must be coming back from the tank. I have filled four plastic drink bottles at this point. Should I clamp ? Any other suggestions? Do I need to drain my fuel tank lower? thanks Doug

I didn't have any trouble with this when I disconnected mine. I probably had less than half a tank of gas and the rear of the car was higher than the nose. You should be able to resolve this without clamping the line.

When I did mine the tank was full and I had no problems.
You may try to loosen the gas cap to relieve any pressure and then disconnect the line completely and lift it up, that should stop any siphon effect you may be getting.

Line up a few 5-gallon buckets and some towels, jack the car so the nose is higher than the tail and let it all gush out.
Alternatively; stuff a rag up there and put up a "No Smoking" sign.

I would not make a good gas thief. I tried relieving the pressure with the cap off. no luck. I tried to fit various sizes of clear hose down the filler and they would only go down 2 feet and jam. Even a 1/2 inch hose. No fuel on end of hose and no suction. I know the tank is almost full. Must have some sort of restrictive device blocking it off . Its on a 2 post and the front suspension is apart, can't tip. This is one of those silly problems.

Doug, see if you can get a vinyl hose to fit tight over the fuel outlet at the back of the car. What type of fitting is under that nut...bulb?
If you can get a good secure and tight connection, drain the fuel from there.

Did you pull the fuel pump fuse with the engine still running and let it (eventually) stall out? The end result should be less than a pint and most of that will be from the filter.
