Early '95 no doubt, it has the best horn!

97, only reason being that you can swap the chip. Not that you would want to, so not much of a benefit over 96.

If we are not talking about the C2, 98 of course

For a C4S, you shouldn't worry about year as much as price, condition, color, service history, miles etc.

95. You can then add varioram (see sig below) and have the best of both worlds - OBD-1 and Varioram.

Cheers,
Joe

I had my heart set on a C2S, but ended up with a C2.. the nb is really nice as well and have extra $$ to fix\upgrade things.

Are the early cars the 2nd "ROW" horn in this vid? That's what mine sounds like, I've got a 10/94 build..which is kind of a mid year build I guess? I have the OBD-II connector too..

Element has a good point. I'd examine my motivation for specifying C4S. Except for the WB, I can't see a terribly compelling reason to avoid a C2. You'll have a lot more to choose from as far as color, etc, and you'll be able to afford a really nice low-mileage example. And when you hit the slippery slope you'll have a little money in your pocket.

Thanks to all for these helpful suggestions (exception being the "buy a '99").
Last sportcars I owned was a Ferrari 512BB 22 years ago. No desire to go back to Italian marques.
