Ring and Pinion Gear wear - ugh.
Engine and tranny are out, so while we're in there, thought to send the worn LSD out for service.
Noticed a fair bit of wear on the ring gear, and the mating pinion in the transmission case.
Any thoughts as to how bad this really is? Fairly disappointed to see this level of wear on $$$ parts at relatively low mileage (42K miles, maybe 40 "easy" DE hours).
Thanks in advance for any thoughts. I am reaching out to the pros as well for diagnosis as well.
Best,
Matt

Tough to tell from the pics, good news is that the wear is not into the root fillets. However, most of the tooth face looks like it still has the machining marks on them, so you definitely can see the contact spots. I can't tell from the pics if the contact spots are really galled, or just polished.
Galled is bad, contact wear polishing is normal.
