Good post. I try to be fair whenever I sell something, but honestly I like to work with other fair people. Most of the people on this board seem like fair and reasonable people. Others appear to be difficult to work with. Given the option, I will try to sell to the people that seem to be fair and reasonable even if they weren't specifically the first in line if I get multiple offers.

Most of us are pretty busy people, for single items one lister to another, who needs the hassle of dealing with someone difficult if there is an alternative.

I always sell for the highest net price = monetary price less the disutility of dealing with that particular buyer. Life is short . . .

As I wrote before, let the seller choose no problem...
He is free to do whatever he likes, no problem
By doing so, regardless, he is being SELECTIVE !, good.
And these days, MOREOVER, he gives zero update to the first in line, just the word SOLD.
The one who snipped the item (fountain of wit) thinks he nicked the first in line.
The practice is very common by sponsors, to snipe...
and now moderators playing the game ???...
So my question in other words was : Are we playing Soft or Hard ball here on the 993 board ?
By the few replies, I got the answer, thanks

We volunteered to moderate so that we could scam RL members.
In fact ltc (a known ruthless scammer with an expertise in P!gs) invited me here to work together as a team.
I am in charge of the European front.
The admin won't do anything about it cause he is in for 10%.
IB takes 25%..but that includes lawyers' fees.
We also have a few sponsors on the trick and each time we post their name we take 5% flat.

Now you know how it works.

Geo,

These two statements (in bold) seem at odds with each other. I'm assuming that this is because the issue has occurred with more than one person/incident? Obviously, there's a story or stories.

What answer did you glean from the replies?

In 2011, I have sent more than 8 paypal payments to people here, after agreeing-receiving paypal address from seller. To find out the next day that payment was returned, with one or two words. Like Sorry Sold.

The above-mentioned thread in post 1 was not at all the same situation, but the extra drop that...

...and suddenly, people who have not posted since 2010 just woke up

911Slow, thank you for your reply or replies.
Now, if I may ask you for, just one thing, to please delete this thread totally, I would appreciate it. From a rennlist member, i hope I am not asking too much...

Since you went out of your way to post this, please allow me to reply.

I posted the headlights for sale in the Member to Member classifieds, as well as posting the link in the 993 forum.
I sold the headlights to the first person to respond with a offer to purchase them.

I conducted the transaction strictly on the basis of 'first come, first served', since that seemed to be the most fair method of conducting such a transaction.
The communication could have been via post, PM or email; in any case, it was done on the basis of the date/time received.
(based on the nature of PM's, the contents are not disclosed, including the memer's ID, date/time nor content...per RL guidelines)

The headlights sold in less than 30 minutes, and once they did, I simply closed the thread, in order to avoid further posts or offers. The headlights are at UPS and on their way out today.

I am truly at a loss in understanding what I did wrong, inappropriate, underhanded or ruthless.

P.S. I was offering these headlights as a Member, hence a Member to Member sale. The fact that is says Moderator in no way should reflect upon Rennlist.
Even when I offered the 993 SAI Tester circuit for sale (and posted the exact costs to the penny and did not charge for design or fabrication time), I did so as a member, after consulting with IB and the Admin, so there would be no issues.
