Sorry to hear. Do you guys think it would be a good Idea to post the stolen VINs here?

Maybe a future buyer will do a google search and turn in the thieves?

This brings to mind a disturbing scene from Sideways...

M.C. Gainey was waving something, but it sure wasn't a Glock.

How do they get them overseas? Doesn't the port or shipper need some proof of ownership?

U.S. Customs have tightened up security with vehicle exports and I know this personally as the container which has my car in it has been stopped for a "random" inspection.

Its becoming more and more common...

90% of al cargo goes uninspected, a major concern for DHS. Commerce is simply much more powerful than ideal govt regulation.

This poor guy's Porsches are now probably in some Oligarch's 12 car garage in some balkan ex-soviet state, and he's laughing his vodka drooling smile every night as he looks at them. The thought is repulsive....

Somewhere in Shanghai by now, being driven by the son of a Communist Party official, no doubt.

That is really a drag.

My brother works on the cranes at LA harbor. I called him right after I read about the cars to tell him to put the word out. He said they can pretty much put anything on a manifest and it can get through. There is just too much passing though the ports (LA and LB) to have every container inspected. It stinks. Stuff happens down there daily.

So sorry to hear about this, it gave me the chills...we can somewhat identify, but the truth is that only if it happens to you, do you know the extent of the loss!

We must spread the word, try to contact port authorities elsewhere like Rotterdam in Holland (the largest river port in Europe), also Hamburg, Germany... it must be offloaded somewhere!!!

Let us spread the word to Rennlisters In Holland and Germany, maybe they can do some research for us.

Our thoughts are with you, what a loss,

Bert
