My 96 C4S was purchased from a rennlister with 132K on it. It now has 142 K on it, runs great, and is in excellent condition with no groans or rattles. I'll have to do the guides sometime soon but it certainly does not keep me from enjoying the car. With the higher miles, I did not pay too much and don't worry about getting it dirty. I've kept up the maintenance and have had very minor repairs since I purchased it 3 years ago.

Several years ago, I had a very low mile triple black C4 cab with sports seats and the works. I always worried about putting too many miles on the car and using it up. I enjoy the higher mileage car much more, and as long as I take care if it, I'll always get close to what I paid for it, when, or if I sell it.

I'm sort of shopping for a 993 but I am one of those people concerned about the mileage. I've never owned a car withE this much mileage and even at 37,xxx miles my 997 C2S has noticeably lost chassis stiffness and picked up groans and rattles. When I buy a 993, I want it to be a keeper (but not a daily driver) so I'm torn between something like your car which seems like a great deal and a lower mileage widebody for $50-55K that would be closer to the car I longed for when these things were new.
This is my 5th 993 it drives as tight as the 25K mile one I drove from CA to CT a couple of years ago. Have a look at the options list I put at the top of the page, the car is set up properly for perfornance handling. Interior is an 8/10 exterior 8/10 mechanical 10/10 electrical 10/10. If you're looking for a great driver this is it if you're wanting a low mile concours I'd suggest looking to the high end dealers just expect to pay a lot more

Thanks Academictech - that is helpful.

Couple more questions if you don't mind:
- What brings the exterior down from 10/10 to 8/10? I'm not looking for a perfect car but would like one that looks great and has no major noticeable issues
- Where are you in CT? I'm in the Bridgeport area every once in a while.

Some minor rock chips and the road rash on the bottom of the front bumper (hard to get used to that lowered height!) make the exterior a 8/10 IMHO.

A couple of updates:

Mileage approaching 120,000...winter just doesn't want to come to New England this year
Also scheduled for the 120K mile service next week

Update:

Lots of interest.

120K mile inspection completed. Fluids changed, everything good, asked them to check the clutch. After a spirited road test, the wrench asked if it had a new clutch (still the original @ 120K miles!). Also had them adjust the Bilsteen PSS10's; ride was a bit too stiff for me. Now on the lower settings the car feels much better for road conditions here in New England. Tires are still 80% in the back 70% in the front.

The more I drive the car, the less I want to sell it. Just wish it would snow already so I can stop driving it

Taking the car of the market.

I'm the last person to get attached to anything material....this is a special car and should stay with the right owner and for that moment, that's me

Hawgdriver, if you don't find the right car you're looking for, look me up when you get back to the States.

Thanks to all for the inquiries and props!

I'm glad you decided to keep it, for my own sanity. The temptation was great!
