standard/options were different in each country
prices were different in each country
The carrera S was more expensive than the 4S in several countries
The carrera RS was cheaper than the Cab and the C4 Cab in Germany.
Supply was polyvalent, and demand...different

The tailend of the 993s production period was shared with the production ramp up of the incomming model 996. When at the factory in late summer '97, the single Zuffenhausen production line was making both 993s and 996s vehicles.
The presence of Toyota Consulting was well underway during the 993 production years. (spare production parts stacked around the factory floor) The 996 production years even more so.... (not a spare part to be found on the factory floor) Those were the days my friend....
In the NA market for MY97 there was the 911 coupe and the 911 S coupe, and all others; MY97 Vesuvio trim colored model S.
In MY98 there was the 911 S coupe, Cabriolet and C4S. That's all she wrote.
The trim level of the wide bodied S coupes included: perferated leather dash & door trim, shift **** painted grey, "Carerra S" in tach, ADB limited, etc. The Carerra S cars are basically the Carerra coupe in wide body trim.
That said, many S coupe buyers ordered components found on the C4S & turbo trim level cars.
