We currenlty have great specials on Forgeline wheels including the centerlocks and conversion parts.

Shoot me and email or PM and we can discuss!

Cheers

I applaud the "cool factor." But seriously, why would you want them other than that? They weigh more, are harder to serice, and you need a $500 torque wrench.

Take a look over at the 997 GT3 forum and you'll read about people who are converting from CL to regular 5-bolt. I considered a 997 GTS and after thinking about it long and hard I realized the only GTS I'd buy would have the no-cost 5-bolt wheels. Within 250 miles of me there were about 40 GTS on the dealer lots and of those just 1 with 5-bolt. It would have been in my garage other than that particular dealer didn't want to "deal" as all the others did. He had the 1 car in my region with "normal" wheels and knew it.

I would say if you track your car, or change the wheels often, stay away from CL: more hassle than it is worth...

Richard,

Having an impact wrench takes away any hassle of having to undo five nuts. Centerlocks look cool, though. I'd never consider them for my car.

Not sure if you've seen this thread. If not, a search might yield more information and possibly a better decision: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...and-locks.html

Good luck!

+1 on the cool factor of center locks on a turbo. Classic styling with new technology.

nothing new about center locks.

Are they cool? sure.

Is it remotely worth the cost? not a chance in hell.

I'm definitely getting them as soon as I have a fully equipped pit crew.

I like them. That's why I put them on blackie. Cost is a relative thing.

Default we

Center locks have been around for a very long time. I agree But never as an option on a street Porsche until recent years.
I'm not going to run out and put them on my car but kudos to someone who wants to get new
gt3 hubs and update an older car. Is is worth the cost? We don't spend thousands upgrading our cars because it's worth it. We personalize and upgrade our cars because it is what we like doing!
Look at the singer Porsche. Is it worth it? To the average person no. Yet someone will spend over $200k on an over restored 911. I do think it's cool.

I think a far greater luxury would be air jacks...plus double the "cool" factor.
