Thank you.
Time was of the essence. The deck has since been stripped and sealed.
Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words. As for clock/fan supply, you'll be dismayed to learn that I've created more than 100 993 desk clocks over the last 5 years...
Thank you.
That's been SOP since 2006.
Thanks, MFL.
Pics of other pastries on my hard drive...
Thanks, Muff King!
For all I know, it ended up in the dumpster behind his house...
Thank you!
Thanks Bill. As for the VW thing, well, his name is "Type 1". The shop foreman at my father's VW dealership made this for him in the early '70s. For as long as I can remember, it stood at the entrance to our houses over the years. In those days, it was painted black and sported a cylinder for a head, with spark plugs as ears, a cam lobe for a nose, spider gears as eyes, and a muffler clamp as the mouth. All Type 1 (Beetle) parts. When my partents retired to NC 10 years ago, I took ownership of "Type 1". At that point, he was badly rusted and the 'head' had cracked off. I sat the carcass in the the corner of my shop for a few years before deciding to resurrect him. I never cared for the cylinder 'head', so I created a bracket and used an old VW bus "VW" for the head. One of the arms had broken off, so I re-welded that. Then I carted him off to be sandblasted and powdercoated.
He's been keeping watch over our dining room for the last year.

Ahhhh, and THERE's the nicely refinished deck in the background! Funny--I was surprised to note the condition of the deck in an earlier photo!
LOVE the art pieces/clocks. Fantastic work...!

I've never owned a VW yet but would be happy to have Type 1 at my house.
Beautiful work. Wish I had that talent.
Type 1 should make a guest appearance down here at the new VW plant in Chattanooga.

Thank you!
At the time. But I've since purchased another new one for a different project.
