My new dd, a BMW Alpina B10 3.5
Having owned several BMW's, one of them a E34 M5, this Alpina was hard to refuse. It was in an impeccable condition despite it having 80k kms. It is the NA version of the Bi Turbo, and has 250 hp. Not bad actually. I researched and found out that Alpina, worked on the head, put larger valves, a cam, lighter pistons and a re-mapped ecu.
Am fascinated with driving an old car that is so fresh.
Oooops, my newly painted wing.

I hate you
Actually, owned an E34 with M20B35 for a few years in Eastern Europe recently. Did a few local rallied and used it as a DD and for long trips. I've always liked E34s and this was a very good example. No Alpina, I can imagine how cool that is (save for the box).

AWESOME! I had a E34 for quite a few years, great car! It's a slush box? Do you know if they "chipped" the trans?
I still got headlight, taillight, & corner lights if you need 'em.

Camlob, you already know that they overheat if let go, so be careful. The culprits are usually clogged coolant return lines and viscous fan clutch that goes away. So be careful with those and if it starts to heat up don't try to drive it, the heads warp easily.
Otherwise and absolutely bulletproof car. Oh, the only thing I would really try to improve is headlights. Everything else is great fora comfortable medium-large daily driver.
PS. Love the E34 M5. Many think that real M5 was E38, but I think E34 was a better compromise to live with every day. Really jealous of Alpina B10, trust me

Nice find!!
Still routinely run my E34 535i (5-sp) - blk 0n blk, Dinan suspension & chip .... solid & as clean as new.
In addition to the points Nile13 raised on viscous clutch & coolant returns .... pull the 1/4" vent line from the top of the rad and blow clear at the coolant reservoir end: THEN, run a drill through the orifice as that tube enters the reservoir so as to enlarge it. If that (too) small orifice plugs, pressure balance is lost and coolant circulation drops severely ...

I recently sold my E34 535i. it was a very clean, never hit 70K mile one owner car when I got it. I lowered it and put on 850csi wheels and tires. It was a nice car but I cant say that I miss it...
Yours is very nice, the early Alpina cars are my favorites...

Yes I think the trans is chipped. Shifts wonderfully when you tip down. I was impressed with the way they mapped the trans.
