Seattle tires?

If you are going to head up into the pass you need at least all-season tires. It hardly every snows here, & when it does, it's gone fast. If it does stay, everything, I mean EVERYTHING shuts down. They are really bad about plowing roads.
I've lived here for 15 years now, & never put winter tires on any car, haven't had any problems driving in the winter. I even went over the passes a few times with summer tires on.
A few years ago, I drove from my house in Tacoma to Kirkland in the snow & ice with summers on, not one issue.

There are a lot of busses that go up to the ski resorts. You might check with REI , Sturtevants or the ski resorts like the Stevens Pass web site. If you need to drive in downtown Seattle, there are some very steep hills that are a challange with a stick and impossible if ice or snow.
