Autotrader served me well; I think it works out cheaper, too, as they throw in a free carfax.

And a classic example of the OPs reservations about listing it on rl...

I agree with Deadhead1960. Comments on price, etc. are appropriate when someone posts in the discussion forum ("Emphasis on Discussion") that start off with "thinking about selling". If it is in the For Sale section, then it is an ad and no need to comment. In fact, I prefer the Pelican approach to for sale ads. No posts are allowed. Period.

Back to comments made in the Discussion Forums, how the comment is presented makes a big difference. Some posts are just a bit too direct and too much tough love. But in a discussion forum, you have to be a bit naive if you think discussion with both pros and cons are not going to happen.

I'd vote Autotrader too. As jlb_94611 said, I would not rule out craigslist either. It's not the best time of year to sell a car but there seems to be a distinct lack of coupes on the market at this time. That should work in your favor.

I found mine on Autotrader. I think their search mechanism is very user friendly and may in fact attract a greater number of buyers who know what they're looking for.

Good call. I would always prefer buying a car from a forum member.

I always try craigslist first, it's free and has worked very well for me. Next up is Autotrader. I've noticed Cars.com has become pretty much a dealer site, very few private party ads anymore.
