FYI,

I found this on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-993-...item4157ce2864
received it today - switched out the board and it works great - now need to order key head.

I purchased one of those too, but after receiving it I returned it as I didn't like fit and finish of the product...it was just OK to me.

I think these are $50.62 each from Porsche, but they have the fancy Porsche name on them. Good find, be interesting to see if they are of the same quality.

cheers,

Mike

I recently bought a second fob and got mine from Sunset/Porsche. IIRC it was around $60 all in. I also had one of the eBay ones in my hands recently and to be frank, it isn't anywhere near the quality, weight or ergonomic feel of the factory fob ...

I've been anticipating purchasing a new key for my 97. Are the key fobs the only option? Was or is there a key with remote buttons built into the key?

I got a replacement kit from Suncoast. They have all of the various options. New remote, just the remote housing that you slip your electronics into, the kit with housing and key head, the old style switchblade replacement housing, etc. It was a little more at $77 for "the works", but it's all OEM and has the lighted key head.

Thanks a bunch for your response. I'll be calling Suncoast.
