9m93 Speedster S #4 - disassembly begins
So, with RP's 9m93 Speedster #3 off to e-coat and the 9m93GT2 CS shell waiting patiently in line for the next slot we figured that it would be a good time to start organising the next 9m conversion.
The history on this car is really interesting. To bring everyone up to speed (sic), some time ago me and Marc bought a lightly knocked 993 NVR convertible that had belonged to the owner of an ex- Porsche Approved bodyshop, was lightly bumped whilst on loan to one of his customers. No big deal, he thought, I'll run it through the bodyshop when we are quiet, so he simply parked it up in his underground storage facility whilst awaiting repair. Roll forwards two years and a change in the insurance law saw him cull his loan fleet and close the business, so the poor little 993 sat in the corner gathering dust. Ten years later, we buy the 8000 mile car and trailer it back to 9m to be re-born into a 9m93 Speedster. Yup, you read it correctly, that's 12 years in storage and as a result we must now own one of the lowest mileage 993 convertibles in existance in Europe.
Me and Marc will be doing this car in our spare time and with spare funds as & when available and already in the parts bin are a pair of new turbo quarters and a pair of used hardback seats, however money is tight & there is a bottleneck in E-coating so please don't expect an exciting winter of us building two Speedsters just yet, OK?
So I suppose the biggest question to answer is: What colour are we going to paint it?
