Finally getting around to putting up these pics. My GF and I took a day trip to Skyline Drive this past weekend. We took a different route this time. We entered the Shenandoah Valley via Rt. 221 West into Thorton Gap. The scenery was gorgeous and the drive was pretty amazing, especially as you approach Skyline Drive. Must say the roads here are just fantastic. There were hardly any straights, smooth, elevation changes, and non-stop switchbacks. The GF was loving it.
Thanks guys. It was a beautiful day with crisp, clean, and cool air for us and the flat-six.

Beautiful pics. We have property outside of Luray,VA so I've scooted up 221 through Thorton Gap countless times. Amazing stretch of road.

I love 221 west especially several miles from the entrance. The curves/turns were just insane. You may recall a sign that says, "Caution Motorcycles....High Crash Area"!! It came up so quick we didn't have time to snap a photo of the sign.

Yeah we got lucky. It was sunny and 42-45F. This weekend.....Yuk
No, unfortunately we didn't take any pics of this area. It was a new route this time and we didn't expect it. Camera was still in the bag plus I was in a "high" and didn't want to stop

I know the feeling; its even harder to stop when you are on a motorcycle and you have to take the gloves off to reach into the pocket to get the camera out.
