XM antenna in a cab?
Adding XM to my Alpine head unit. My searching tells me the best place for the antenna is on the back deck (even under the back deck, cool), but that won't work in a cab.
Planning on going with passenger side of dash, tucked up close to windshield. Any cab owners do something better/different?
Seems like its going to be kind of difficult to run the antenna wire under dash top and down to lower dash area / back of radio.
Any input appreciated. TIA

I had a 95 Cab with XM. The shop (in Oceanside) put it inside the front bumper. Never saw any wires or anything and worked like a charm. Thats where they routinely put them.

Little update and as good info for anybody in the future.
Finished up my XM install the other night and hid the antenna in the front bumper. Completely stealth and works well.
Just ran the antenna wire up through firewall behind glove box into trunk area. Snaked wire through large grommet in passenger side fender to the rear of the headlight bucket area then down small crevice between headlight bucket and trunk to front bumper. The bumper support piece is aluminum so I just squeezed my hand down in behind bumper cover directly in front of trunk latch with some alcohol cleaner to prep the aluminum bumper beam and firmly secured the antenna with "industrial strength" two way tape.
Much cleaner install than on outside of car or on dash IMHO.

Three Wheelin'
It's also possible to install them under the dash. Just unscrew the vents at the windshield and you can fit a slim antenna so it's completely hidden. feed the wire under the dash from the top and you're good to go. I did this with the GPS antenna for my Traffic Pro and it works great with no reception problems.
