Alois Ruf spent about 20 minutes looking over SpeedArena and talking with Marc at Rennsport... He was very impressed and I know he would approve :-)
True, but with all due respect, I think you're sicker than I am because you already have the finished product!!

That's really cool that you got to chat with Alois! Score!!

I actually missed the entire encounter ... story of my life. but I got a blow-by-blow from Marc, grinning from ear to ear. :-)

So, value of this car if it's a real RUF? I'd say Turbo money at least so $65-90K

If it's not a real RUF? I'd put it at $45-50K because it would have no documentation as to the work done. Either way, it's going to be a small buyer's market ...
Is there any way the owner could find out what her 'Ex' paid for it?

RUF Dallas isn't RUF anymore and likely couldn't help. However, RUF Germany is helpful via email. It would be a good idea to email the vin to RUF Germany and see what they know about the car. If it is truly a RUF, the value could be double. If not, who knows what the heck that car is?

Actually, it's a '97 'V' code car if the Vin number is as stated:
Vin# WP0CA2998VS341116

If it brought $80K in 2002 it will not bring $50K today. My guess is 40s and low 40s at that. What do we have? A cab with some Turbo conversion. Probably used on the track. With no paperwork. With low miles, though. Is it really a $40K+ car?

Absolutely, put the car on eBay. Put a reserve on if you wish or start it at $45K without reserve and see if anyone bites. I would also call the two numbers in Florida mentioned in the cached ad above. There's info to be had.

Absolutely. Confirming a RUF conversion is the difference between a $40K car and an $80K car to someone who knows and values RUF's work.
