Exclamation 993 noob - Third brake light & side skirt options

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 993 Carrera and have a few questions.
I've searched the forum quite a bit and found a lot of great information, but can't find answers to two specific questions I have.

The first is probably the easiest. The car currently has black lower OEM extensions under the rockers. Has anyone ever painted these? I think it would look good and would give a 'lower' look (the car already has coilovers). I just don't know whether to paint them, or wrap them in red vinyl. I'm concerned paint won't adhere too well on the plastic.

The second question concerns the third brake light. It currently has the 'basket handle' installed, which is ugly as sin IMO. I know people usually retrofit the OEM wing brake light found on the more recent models, but I'm wondering if anyone has passed the wires that run to the engine cover to the parcel shelf (sort of like in this pic)?
I'm considering fitting a Cayman third brake light, but don't want to butcher the car and want it to look as OEM as possible.
If not, I'll just go the wing light route.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Someone somewhere on this board turned the rear porsche center reflector in to a brake light I think that is a cool idea, as you don't need to add anything just run wires and lights.

Thanks for the input, I'll look into it.
I'm not too sure about having the light so low though as people in Montreal generally suck at driving and would probably tail me without seeing any of the brake lights go on.

The rear tail lens PORSCHE reflector was for sale on eBay a few months back for I believe just under $1000

That's the price for the basic lens but the one on eBay was already coverted and bolt on as a third brake light

Interesting, but at that price I'd just get the wing kit!

Don't paint the side skirt bottom. I did it and it made the car FAT in the middle. Picture a girl/guy with a rather large belly. Wide body porsches have Coke bottle shape. Wide front and wide rear/hips. The middle is thin.

Really? Got any pics?
I was playing around with Photoshop and I found it looks pretty neat.

Top one is where I painted it. Bottom is before painting. I think it made my car looks like a girl/guy with a fat middle section.

I agree - much better unpainted.
