Now that would be kind of stupid...

I will take this advice seriously and will install the intercooler as well.

And for the rear shelf I think I will make a very thin plywood sheet that I will install the RS carpet on. I don't like how the RS carpet looks over all those bumps there...
So today I made that "shelf" from a thin chipboard. I made a cut halfway through the board on the upper side where I was going to bend it so it wouldn't crack. I think it worked out quite well considering I only spent 15minutes making it...

Looks much better IMHO with the board than without it!
I think I will have the Carrera text embroided on the carpet and maybe even a Porsche logo.

I think I should dye the roof black too, while I'm there...!?

Juha,

I'm interested in your chipboard "shelf" solution. It levels out the area well and I imagine with little weight penalty.

What thickness is it (chipboard) and how do you plan on keeping it in place?

Cheers -

The board is about 2-3mm thick. I don’t know what the actual trade name for the board is but I’m 100% sure you can find it at Home Depot.
It is used mostly to as temporary protection during construction and I have also seen it used as shipment packaging material.
It is very light weight. I’m guessing the whole plate does not weigh more than 2-3lbs.

The board tucks well under the rear window gasket and I plan on using screws to attach it to the original shelf attachment places (see markings on the pic).

Yesterday I finished my door skins and will have them upholstered now.

I felt like a little boy on Christmas day, opening up all those nicely wrapped packages...

I read the installation instructions from start to finish several times and the installaton seems quite straight forward. However, I think I will take my time and make some things a little bit better than what the instructions show. For one, I will not use plastic zip ties to secure anything else than electrical wires.

The instructions advice to use a 993 non-vr throttle body. The diameter of the intake pipe going into the supercharger is 70mm, whereas the 993 non-vr body is only 65mm. I think I will be better off getting a 70mm TB. It is a 16% difference in cross section, which is quite significant as it is on the suction side of the SC.

The other thing that comes to mind is that It might make sense to try and clean up/polish the intake tube/adapter piece. The cast surface on the inside is quite rough. Maybe not so important on the pressure side but on the suction side I think it would make a difference...?

Oh, and I also need to get bigger injectors. I just don't know which ones and what size to get... The stock injectors flow 24...26lb/hr and 993 turbo injectors flow 44lb/hr. I think the turbo injectors could be used!? Or should I get the latest technology? Don't know much about injectors but I'd be surprised if there was no develepoment at all in the past 15 years...?

Don't put Porsche/bosch fuel injectors they are way to expensive and as you say are old technology.

I put some Bosch/Ford Motorsport injectors in my car flow approx 36lb at our fuel pressure.

A good option for you would be the Bosch/Ford Motorsport 'Blue Giant" Ford rates them at 39lb at 43.5 psi, Bosch rates it at 41.5lb at 43.5 psi. At our fuel pressure (55psi) you are looking at a flow rate of 44 to 47lb... These wold be good for over 500hp....

I bought my injectors from FiveoMotorsport, great service and prices, they only list in packs of 8 for the "Blue Giant" @ $358. Give them a call they will sell you 6 only... ~ $270

This might be useful.

Nice. When you are finished and you go for that first drive - you will be amazed and grinning from ear to ear.
Make sure you get some beofre and after dynos.
Interested in seeing what % power gains you get.
Also interested in what a larger throttle body does for you.

+1 on what Steven said. Turbo injectors are SO expensive. I could not believe it when I found out.

Will you be running the motec with your SC kit Juha?

Thanks for the info Steven!
The blue giants are also older generation (even though 10 years newer than the 993 injectors). So why not get the latest!?

Compared to the "standard" TPC package I will have the following improvements:

No MAF restricting the air flow
Larger throttle body for better flow
Larger and newer injectors vs. 7th injector (more accurate fuel distribution)
Motec vs. piggypack

I did also get the base line dyno done:

With original ECU: 279hp / 339Nm
With Motec M600: 309hp / 390Nm

I just purchased a set of Gen4 (=latest and greatest) 550cc Bosch injectors from Fuel Injector Connection (www.fuelinjectorconnection.com)

The type is: Bosch ev14. Gen 4 with 6 hole discharge
Direct fit to the Porsche 993 fuel rail and ports (+ connectors)

They were $380/set of 6, flow matched and shipped to Finland.

I don't think you will have any fueling issue with those...... Great Choice!
