#(7)24 in the post second above is Masuo Robinson's '69 chassis 3.8L car built by Mat Lowrance. I think he finished 4th overall, and got down to about 1:32 flat. Only Loren Beggs in the FABCAR prototype w/ Cayman bodywork was significantly faster. No, I don't count Sofronas with his overdog in that race group. We were walking to grid and he basically said he was treating this weekend for that car as a test session..........
(Was funny to be at the Elephant Racing booth while Mat was there, and the owner/designer/whoever from Elephant being schooled by Mat on how he had that radius arm spring plate thing designed and working circa 1983.)
A picture, especially in the context of this post:

Since I took over 2k pics in the 3 days I was there....here's just a few to keep you guys from waiting too long.....
Also wanted to note these pics are all straight out of the camera with no post processing, and yes I know, some of these colors look too good to be true!

Ken: I think Masuo's chassis is a '72. He was on junk tires but did pretty well. Peter Smith was faster with his fresh 3.8 (400 bhp+?) on newer tires I think... And Gamroth was fast with his fresh and novel new motor with even more bhp than Peter.
I was on really junk tires, and my car was loosing power all weekend until it finally went down a cylinder early in the race... too bad.
Some decent driving in our group, except for one car that managed to hit two different people. Hmmmm
What a great event!

^^ Moffat, you were missed! ^^
Wonderful weekend. Incredible people + incredible cars.
Flew home late last night & didn't want to wake, to find it was just a dream.
My pleasure, sir! You & SpeedArena were #1 on my list. When Mothers invited Speedy, I simply saw an opportunity to share with RLers, albeit at literally the last minute (wish I could have gotten more in the showcase all 3 days).
Likewise, I have to thank the good Mothers folks for trusting me that RL could supply the best rides at Rennsport Reunion!
P.S. Please PM me your latest address: a belated gift was delivered for you today. So I could give you in CA, it was 'guaranteed' to be here before the weekend
Trust me: if you like Speedsters, you'll like it. Since I don't yet own what just arrived for you, it's in your interest to get it out of my hands ASAP
It also includes a gift from AlpinaDvl (no kidding).
Good thing I was able to bring my June '11 Excellence for Your Eminence's inscription

Funny, I almost wrote that, but had no clue how to spell!
I can get by with "Popester," though. Got your PM
Is there a story about the drive home or were you just making Marc earn his room & board?
Other RLers' rides, too: alpinadvl, dnmnm, pauly993, mcipseric, & some yahoo with 2 RList stickers on his windshield
Click for the full photo gallery: Who else's Porsches do y'all recognize?
Steve-- Thanks for the PM. If it makes you feel any better, I had also called the cell of the below paint-to-sample red 997 Speedster's owner, who also couldn't make it.
Too bad I missed you! Obviously, though, AutoBlog.com didn't miss Rufus: they even gave you a special shout-out in print
Autoblog has been walking the paddock of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca taking in Rennsport Reunion IV for the past two days... but that's just a small part of the action. Today, we took a long stroll through the various Porsche corrals where the privately owned cars park during the event. While we're suckers for race machinery, some of the automaker's street cars are equally spectacular, even in standard trim.
Take a look through our massive gallery of cars, including those from members of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and Porsche Owners Club (POC). Both organizations are loaded with very enthusiastic owners who take meticulous care of their mid- and rear-engined sports cars. Look carefully and you'll spot everything from early cars all the way to the latest 997 GT3 RS 4.0 - even a rare RUF Turbo (on a 993 platform).
Our personal favorites include the 930, GT2 RS, RS Ducktails and the early 911-based RUF Turbo Targa. How about you?
I'll take the Turquoise Blue 993 Turbo S, the Slate Gray 930, the 997 GT3RS 4.0, and all the Speedsters.

I think it goes without saying that you have an eye for photography. If you don't mind, can you give me an idea of what type of equipment you used to capture your superb pictures?
Thanks!
