Default 993RS and Turbo S at Petit Lemans this weekend....

I was hanging out in the Porsche Platz this weekend watching the race and saw these two amazing cars. The speed yellow RS was the real deal as far as I could tell.... RS color matched seats, no sunroof, full roll cage, Motons ect. There was a rennlist sticker on the car as well.... so anyone know the car? You could tell the car was tracked and that impressed me even more. The Turbo S was a cherry car with 12k miles on it and 100% stock. Unfortunately my camera battery died before I saw the RS so you are stuck with crappy cell phone pics. I also got some good shots of the 45 Flying Lizard car.

The yellow RS is my old car. I built it from a stock '95 993. It was featured in Excellence Magazine back in February 2007. I knew it was going to be that car when I read the subject of the post. I miss it.

Hey Ryan- I was there this weekend as well. Only hung out in the Porscheplatz for a bit, but long enough to win a sweet Porsche umbrella in the raffle. I was wondering the same thing about the RS- noticed the lack of sunroof and a few other clues. I saw the guy leaving in it and wanted to get his attention to ask, but he was with his wife who looked well worn after spending 12 hours at the races. Did you catch that silver 993 with green and orange accents?

It is a beautiful example.... and attention to detail as well. I was hoping to talk to the owner but never saw them around the car. The car looks like it is a blast to drive thats for sure.

It must be some consolation to have a knowledgeable rennlister come on here and indicate he thought it was a real RS. That is a testament to the job you did on the conversion. Very respectable. Man, looks gorgeous in the pictures, I feel your pain.

I should add that there were some other pretty cool cars in the corral this year. Here are some pics that I took of cars whose color grabbed my attention- the 997 is definitely an acquired taste.

Great race- this was my 9th year!

Thats me with the GT2RS.

I did see that... it was an interesting car as well. The RSR flares were moulded on the body but still had the bolts. I think it was a NB car but they had Gt2 badges all over it

The RS and turboS are both great. There is something about the S wing that really brings the car together. Thanks for sharing the photos and man what a helluva a race it was. I was routing for flying lizard, P Long is the man!

Yeah- it was a divisive car amongst my crew. On the plus side you have a great color and I'm a big fan of the 993 GT2 look (especially those wheels), but I was not a fan of the molding job, the side skirts, the blacked out taillights or the color scheme. Orange or green accents could be dope, but together it was too much.

I agree. At a distance I was excited to see it... but the closer I got the more I was curious at the choices. If they had kept the flares mounted correctly, not blacked the lights out, and kept the accent colors a little more reserved it would have been a very nice car. But to each their own right....

Great race between the M3 and the #45 Lizard car the last few laps - Bergmeister was on his ***. After they threw the final caution I thought the M3 had it in the bag, but when they went green Bergmeister swooped him.

Cool pics. Thanks for sharing. The black 993 Turbo S has some major paint swirls. At least it's being driven, and not a garage queen.

I hope ZR1 doesn't read this thread, specifically post #7..... yikes.....

The RS is crying for front wheel spacers.
