Guys, my intention with buying this car was to use it as a DD. I did not even know it was rare and just thought it was a cool color. When I posted asking about exhaust, wheels, and other mods I received over 30 PM's and emails saying not to ruin the car and how rare it was. I have modded my 997 C2S and RS and never thought twice about it. I have never owned a car I felt I shouldn't mod or rack miles up on, or am even scared to get a chip on until this one. I enjoy driving my cars and I haven't been able to enjoy this one be it my fault or not. It is just too rare as all of you have proven. That is what happened with this car. I stumbled across it after test driving another 993 and thought low mile car, cool color will last me for a long time. So like what I do with my cars or not this is how I enjoy them and this is what I am going to do. This is the last post I am going to make on the situation. I have never been bashed on any of the other areas of this forum or have I even seen bashing for what one chooses to do with his car. This is why I am on Rennlist. I do find it amusing that we have a few so called purists on this thread that apparently have made the rule book on what should be done to be a so called purist. For everyone else thanks for the advice I do appreciate it and to everyone that PMed and emailed me, I will let you know exactly what I am going to to with the car.
Cheers,
Chris

I will post pictures up soon. It is a one owner 1998 Riviera Blue C2S, manual, Cashmere interior, 12000 original miles, never been tracked or seen rain. It is 100% original with all paperwork including insane service records, all the way down to every time the car was started it was recorded in a journal that I have. The car is MINT and I would say as good or better then showroom quality. There are a few on here that have seen it and can vouge for the condition. Anyone is welcome to see it whether I sell or not.

whew, it's cashmere int. otherwise, i would take it ;-)
if you want that specific blue, then you need to keep it. if you want the 911 that most of the porsche factory drivers want or have bought, you take the 4.0.

but keeping both would be best of course.

Yes, I think you should sell it because after all you’re just a poser and not a purist. I remember when you posted the car for the first time you were like Jo Jo the circus monkey. Touting it was your dream car and you wanted it since you were a pup. What a joke!!!! I told my friend you would sell the car in less than six months and sure enough I was right. I remember you were the guy who beat up the old guy selling it at the time, if the fellow purist who sold it to you knew you were dumping it, I’m sure he would have had second thoughts. So go ahead make us all happy and make your $5000.00 and dump it. You are all about the show...............MAM

So MAM did you ever sell your 11,400 mile 1998 C2S that you drove so much to buy the faster more expensive turbo you were longing for? Maybe one day I will be a be a purist like you..........

with all due respect, 993's are NOT rare cars. i had 2.
though not rare, 993 is one hell of a good car, once that usa gear box is regear'd.
also, selling a car after 6 months of ownership may not be poseur. most of my p cars sees 30,000 miles in one year. so in a short period of time i would have enjoyed the car more than most who hold their cars for long time. different ppl use cars differently!

Mooty you are the reason I have this issue! If you would have taken my 4.0 when I offered it to you I wouldn't have this issue, hahaha. Did you end up finding the the cup you were looking for? Hope all is well.

^ you think you have prob. i am much more confused.
i may end up with cup and 4.0 + a divorce.

Mooty, I think there is something wrong with your math.

You said cup and 4.0 + a divorce.

I think the full equation is cup and 4.0 + a divorce = no cup and an ex wife with a really sweet 4.0

mrsullivan 09-28-2011 11:54 PM

dont forget the very first guy who emailed/PM'd you with an offer to buy your car... check your records... :D

should you decide to sell of course...
